خون گفت: “من بايد رئيس بدن باشم، چون اكسيژن را به تمام اعضاي بدن مي‌رسانم و بدون من هيچ عضوي كار نخواهد كرد.”
معده گفت: “من بايد رئيس باشم، چون تمام غذاها را من پردازش مي‌كنم و انرژي لازم اعضاي بدن را تأمين مي‌كنم.”
همهمه‌اي سر گرفت و باقي اعضاء نيز تلاش مي‌كردند رئيس بودن خود را توجيه كنند.
در اين بين مقعد با صداي بلند گفت: “من رئيس بدن هستم.”
به يكباره اعضاي بدن شروع به خنديدن كردند و مقعد را مسخره كردند. او نيز عصباني و منقبض شد.
در فاصله چند روز، مغز دچار سردرد وحشتناكي شد، معده ورم كرد و خون نيز سمي شد. به ناچار همه اعضاء تسليم شدند و توافق كردند كه مقعد رئيس بدن باشد.

“I should be in charge”, said the blood, “because I circulate oxygen all over, so without me you’d all waste away”.
“I should be in charge”, said the stomach, “because I process food and give all of you energy”.
“I should be in charge”, said the rectum, “because I’m responsible for waste removal”.
All the other body parts laughed at the rectum and insulted him, so in a huff, he shut down tight. Within a few days, the brain had a terrible headache, the stomach was bloated, and the blood was toxic.
Eventually the other organs gave in. They all agreed that the rectum should be the boss.
